Life Island cards are designed to spark engaging conversations, drawing inspiration from the locations on the Life Island map.
The cards can be used as a stand alone communication resource or alongside the map for activity 5 in the Life Island Complete Guide.
The Card Packs come in a clear plastic box with 36 Site Cards and 6 Facilitator’s Tools cards.
Each Site card presents four colour coded levels of discussion: a simple question, a deeper one, a relationships question and an action-based activity for some fun, a quick drawing or movement.
The Tools cards are to inspire facilitators with follow on questions to a person’s responses.
Whether you’re considering the questions individually, in pairs or as part of a group, these cards
offer flexibility.
- The facilitator might guide the selection, or individuals could choose the question that most resonates with them.
- You might use one question from one card and all share your answers for a quick ice breaker.
- You might agree to cover 3 questions each in a session or set a time limit.
- You could also introduce an element of chance by selecting a card randomly, using the dice in the Life Island kits to get a number and then answer the questions on the corresponding card, or simply picking one that catches your eye.
- You could find the cards that correspond to where people say they are at on the map, (in activities 1 through to 4 in the Complete Guide that comes with the Life Island Kits) and then answer the questions relating to each persons chosen site.
